The story of Inspipred Birth

I’m Jenny! Founder of Inspired Birth. I’m a traditional midwife preparing to sit for the NARM, healer, doula, educator, coach and maternal health & DV advocate.

I also coordinate the largest event in NH for pregnant and new families.

I was a teen mom, army wife, dancer, teacher and coach before entering the birth world full time in 2013. Read more about my story, journey and background below.

A persons birth experience impacts their entire life… on every level

Hi, I’m Jenny!

Midwife, Doula Trainer, Mentor, Advocate, and Educator, who LOVES to connect people together!

I help people feel supported and safe so they can they can reach “altered states of consciousness” through the birth process & other transformational times in life. I also teach people how to hold this space for their clients.

Back in 2009, I birthed my 5th son at home and had a month long near death experience postpartum.

The maternal health crisis is NOT new… It keeps getting worse.

When I walked down the tunnel I was given a choice. “Come with us… or return to your body”.

“They” (the energy that met me at the end of the tunnel) showed me what my boys life would be like without me… I was told if I returned to my body I had a job to do when I returned… for years I tried to figure out what that was. I knew I wanted to do something with birth but I wasn’t sure what…

In 2011 I “officially” trained as a doula and childbirth educator and started attending hospital births…in hopes to prevent people from experiencing what I did.

My purpose found me in 2013.

In 2013 I was invited into a home birth practice in Northern NH. I also launched the nh mama & baby expo.

I found what made me feel alive again!

Home and hospital birth were like day and night & events were the container to connect the people!

I officially enrolled in midwifery school in 2015 and my mind was blown. 1% of midwifery is catching babies.

In 2016-2017 I started attending births at a local birth center while attending midwifery school and raising my five boys.

In 2018 I was finally able to flee domestic violence and started raising my 5 boys on my own. I somehow finished my didactic education and continued to attend births as a doula, teach private classes and host bi-annual events.

In 2020, When the world shut down, I started attending out of hospital birth again. I have been working in birth centers, home birth practices and hospitals all over NH, VT, and MA since. Finishing my clinical numbers and skills.

In 2021 I helped found the WOMB Initiative, a 501(c)(3) supporting maternal health in the North Country of NH. I later resigned from the board to expand my vision and begin advocating for maternal health, domestic violence, weaponization of our family court system, ACEs, and systemic accountability

RESPITE the System and the Coalition for Perinatal health were born. These two organizations are quietly working in the background, lead by an amazing group of passionate women with an array of experience, and will be public in 2024. All ticket proceeds from my events are used to offer scholarships to local people being called to doula work.

I am taking off my midwife hat for the moment to focus on healing my body from the years of DV and compassion fatigue from the maternal health crisis.

I firmly believes if we are going to change the world it starts with how babies come into it. I am on a mission to build an Army of support for NH and beyond through trauma informed and evidence based education and support options.

I will be sitting for the NARM boards shortly. I am currently taking a sabbatical from on-call work to focus on my boys and sharing what I’ve learned the past decade sitting with women to the next generation of doulas and perinatal health educators.

I firmly believe if we are going to change the world it starts with how babies come into it.

How our children come into the world impacts their entire life. A mother’s experience of the birth process and the support she has raising her child… makes or breaks her.

We need to do better!

Midwifery has taught me the importance of the soul level connections we make with people.
